In 1816 Peter and Mary Zimmerman bought the lot, built a cabin and cleared the land. Their sons were James, Henry P. and Johnston Zimmerman. In 1875 the title passed to Henry P. Zimmerman. 1877 Halton Illustrated Atlas: Henry P. ARCHITECTURE: This one-and-a-half storey frame structure in Georgian Style, clad with narrow wood clapboard siding, appears to date from the 1820s and to have been built for Peter and Mary Zimmerman, although the City records date it to 1850. The front elevation appears to be an asymmetrical four bay (not clear from photograph). One-storey side wing. All windows have shutters. The end-gabled roofs have plain projecting verges and plain boxed cornice. ENVIRONMENT: USABILITY: INTEGRITY: The front entrance is protected by a gabled roof supported by replacement posts.
