Three generations of John Lemon's family lived on the first Farms and Farming north of a wooden train bridge (removed in 1963), situated high above the railway tracks. Wm. Thomas Lemon (1833-1926) and Mary (nee Budge) (1837-1907) of Beverly Township, Lynden, Ontario, paid $5,500 for 84-86 acres of Farms and Farmingland for 4 of his 6 sons from Joseph Hancock in 1881, known as \"The Plains\" -- a plateau on the West side of the Grindstone Creek's ravine. John Lemon (1863-1937) bought the land for 1200 Lemonville Road for $1.00 from his parents, Thomas and Mary Lemon, and built his red brick house ready for marriage. John married Ida Scheer (1872-1927) in January 1894. Their Children and youth were Frederick (1898-1974), Russell (1900-1984), and Dorothy (1902-1993). John passed his Farms and Farming to his son Frederick (1895-1974), who married Margaret \"Nellie\" Cunningham (1898-1967). Their Children and youth were John \"Jack\" (1920-2000), Margaret (1921- 1921, died at 2 weeks), and William \"Bill\" (1922-2011). John and Fred Lemon's house, barn and Farms and Farmingland, were totally obliterated in 1963 by the Department of Highways to make way for Highway 403."},{"label":"Contributor","value":"Audrey (nee Lemon) Webb"},{"label":"Date","value":"1899"},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1899"},{"label":"Title","value":"1200 Lemonville Road,1899"},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Historical Society"]}],"description":"1200 Lemonville Road,1899","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/2985e255-372d-4785-9a03-f68b6f4999d0/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"1200 Lemonville Road,1899","height":209,"width":327,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/2985e255-372d-4785-9a03-f68b6f4999d0/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/2985e255-372d-4785-9a03-f68b6f4999d0","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1]}]},"height":209,"width":327},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/2985e255-372d-4785-9a03-f68b6f4999d0/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/2985e255-372d-4785-9a03-f68b6f4999d0/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/2985e255-372d-4785-9a03-f68b6f4999d0/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
