There is a pedestal of limestone blockwork. The large ground floor windows were the commercial display areas. The smaller second floor windows imply the residential use. Renovated in August 1977 by Architects, Carter & Chamberlain.... The original roof and two dormers were raised during the renovations to create a third floor and mezzanine. Notable characteristics of the structure are the continuous band of brick header below the second floor windows, the scalloped parapet wall at the sides, the original decorative wood gingerbread on the dormers, the twin chimneys, the symmetry of the building and the geometrical configuration of the whole building dictated by an irregular shaped lot, thus giving it the nickname 'Rhombus Corners'. -- R. S. Carter,Raymond Stuart Carter, a member of LACAC in 1978, was partner in the firm Carter & Chamberlain, Architects & Planners of the Village Square development in 1977. He died in May 1981."},{"label":"Creator","value":"R. S.
