In 1923 this lot was sold to Thomas Page, whose house was at 539. P age took a mortgage to build this house and sold it to William Stevens, a gardener, and his wife Bertha. It stayed in the Stevens family until 1988. However, according to a later owner, this house was built in 1908 or 1912 by James Harrison. The 1919 Sewerage Plan shows it as an empty lot owned by George Pearse.
