Harbottle: George Harbottle built the Farms and Farminghouse in 1840. His son George Jefferson, grandson Elmer, great-grandson Rosslyn, great-great-grandson Ronald, and great-great-great-grandson Bryan all lived in the home. Ronald built a new house on the Farms and Farming. At the time of the note (November 1988), no one had lived in the house for the past 2 years. According to Winnifred Harbottle, Kilbride's Heritage (1985): The Harbottle Farms and Farming on Twiss Road is a Century Farms and Farming. It was originally purchased in 1832 by George Hardbottle Sr. Shelter was provided first by a log house and about 1840 by a stone and frame building. In 1896 George J. Hardbottle built the present barn with timbers and boards from Crawford's Mill at Campbellville. Stone for its foundation came from the rocky ridge to the north known as the Twiss Hill. The slabs of free stone above the barn windows and doors were quarried on the Farms and Farming."},{"label":"Contributor","value":"H.
