Eager's survey extended from the Lake Shore Road (not then called Water Street) to north of Ontario Street, and from St Luke's \"Church Avenue\" to the \"Road to Hamilton\" (now called Maple Avenue). Lot 20 was sold by James Eager in 1874 to Thomas Leitch, who sold it in 1878 to Thomas Selby; in 1883 to Richard Edward Norman; in 1902 from his estate to Mary Caroline Norman; in 1912 to Solomon Mintz, who took a mortgage to build this house for Norman John Clark, who bought it in 1915. 1915 Voters List: Myer H. Mintz (Legislative Assembly only - owner of lot, location not given) 1917 Sewerage Plan: owned by Norman Clark. In 1919 it passed to Adelaide Ann Clark. The 1917 and 1918 Telephone Directories list Adam Clark; the 1922 Telephone Directory lists Mrs Adam Clark on Nelson Av. 1927 Voters List: Fred G. Clark, (retired) Gentleman, Lots 18-19, 35 Nelson 1932 Burlington Directory: Fred G. Clark, Boarder, 35 Nelson In 1941 the property passed to Frederick George Clark; in 1955 to Charles Parsons ... ARCHITECTURE: A small one-storey cottage, finished with aggregate stucco, in a modified Craftsman Style. Front-gabled roof with offset gable over enclosed entry porch; side gabled dormer above a bay. The projecting eaves are supported by simple brackets. Bay window at the front. The foundation is rock-faced cement block. ENVIRONMENT: Set next to an apartment building which is alien to the strong heritage streetscape of Nelson Avenue, this house acts as an important buffer. USABILITY: INTEGRITY: Well maintained.
