(Presently workmen are restoring the exterior with white aluminum siding.\" \"Presently there seems to be little danger of the church being replaced for the sake of progress. The old church is getting a face-lifting: white aluminum siding since keeping a coat of paint on the old building has become a problem. According to an elderly gentleman who was a lay reader in the church about 45 years ago, the original building was smaller, but an addition was added to lengthen the building. In more recent years the basement has been enlarged to handle the needs of the congregation.\" (p. 4),A frame church, of post-and-beam construction, originally somewhat box-shaped. The interior had balconies along two walls, with free benches for those who did not rent pews on the ground floor. The choir sat in a second-storey alcove below the steeple, and the pulpit was reached by a winding staircase. The exterior was originally clad with wooden siding, and the windows were rectangular. In 1894 the first renovation introduced a new chancel, a sanctuary, an organ loft, and a stained glass window. In 1888/89 the roof was removed and replaced with a more steeply pitched roof. A single bell housing replaced the spire. The exterior walls were shortened, removing the balcony level, and the windows were replaced with small gothic style lancet windows. Inside, the box pews were removed. 18 October 1899 Gazette: the re-opening of St Luke's expected in mid-November. The church was enlarged in 1952, doubling the seating capacity to 150. In 1982 the church was extended again, with an enlarged narthex. A replacement spire was added in 1989.
