Campbell, a butcher on Brant Street. Later the home of the Utter family. The lane to the east of the house, now Blathwayt Lane, was called Utters' Lane, and also Rink Lane, since it led to the skating arena on Elgin Street. The renovation and restoration undertaken by Monarch Construction in 1978/79 was honoured by a Heritage Award. A slide presentation incorporated the following notes: \"The building was used as an office for a decade or more prior to Monarch's purchase in 1976. Restoration began in the Winter of 1978 and the restored building was officially opened in June 1979. The brick was cleaned in 1978/9. The interior has been restored to period style. Suspended ceilings and fluorescent panels were removed and the plaster repaired or replaced with drywall. The paint was stripped from the staircase and the herringbone oak floor refinished. Some other woodwork was replaced. The original large fireplace in the sitting room was replaced with a smaller fireplace. Some doors were preserved and others are replacements. The back staircase, made of broad pine, was preserved. The brick and board walls of the summer kitchen were cleaned. The second-floor pine floorboards were preserved. The sunroom off the rear bedroom was restored. Some of the hot air registers are original and some are replicas. The basement pillars are tree trunks which have been whitewashed. \" The present owners have renovated the house for single family use."},{"label":"Contributor","value":"Chris Bryan"},{"label":"Creator","value":"Chris Bryan"},{"label":"Title","value":"1426 Ontario Street, 2008"},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Historical Society"]}],"description":"1426 Ontario Street, 2008","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/11d9b872-250a-4d0c-88ce-ffdd72b60805/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"1426 Ontario Street, 2008","height":1200,"width":1600,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/11d9b872-250a-4d0c-88ce-ffdd72b60805/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/11d9b872-250a-4d0c-88ce-ffdd72b60805","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":1200,"width":1600},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/11d9b872-250a-4d0c-88ce-ffdd72b60805/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/11d9b872-250a-4d0c-88ce-ffdd72b60805/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/11d9b872-250a-4d0c-88ce-ffdd72b60805/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
