The pier will extend 132 metres over Lake Ontario and provide breathtaking views of the lake and Burlington's shoreline. The City hired AECOM, an international corporation operating in more than 100 countries on 5 continents, as the design consultant and engineer of record, and tendered the construction contract to Harm Schilthuis & Sons. Construction began in autumn 2006.
