Dressed stone sills and lintels. Original 6/6 wood sash windows with fine muntins. The gable finial has been retained. ENVIRONMENT: Close to the road, but secluded behind evergreens. A rustic cedar two-door garage (inspired by Cedar Springs Community?) at the rear. USABILITY: Adapted for contemporary residential use. INTEGRITY: The belfry has been removed and the chimney above the roof taken down. (See photograph from the 1980s for the originals). Replacement shutters, not in proportion. Two large rear dormers and a flat-roofed one-storey rear addition, clad with rustic wood siding. Well maintained. A fine heritage structure. The restoration of the belfry would be eligible for heritage grant funding, and would make a great improvement (compare the restoration of the belfry on the Ireland House)."},{"label":"Creator","value":"LACAC"},{"label":"Date","value":"1860"},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1860"},{"label":"Title","value":"5726 Cedar Springs Road, Burlington, ON; Dakota Schoolhouse, S.S. #10"},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Historical Society"]}],"description":"5726 Cedar Springs Road, Burlington, ON; Dakota Schoolhouse, S.S. #10","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/0c72cbaa-a5bd-4579-8b5d-f91b5c04cf90/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"bhs_205459-1","height":415,"width":592,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/55c8c6e5-5ae0-4038-8054-888d69648c00/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/55c8c6e5-5ae0-4038-8054-888d69648c00","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2]}]},"height":415,"width":592},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/0c72cbaa-a5bd-4579-8b5d-f91b5c04cf90/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/55c8c6e5-5ae0-4038-8054-888d69648c00/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}},{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/0c72cbaa-a5bd-4579-8b5d-f91b5c04cf90/canvas/_2","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"bhs_205459-2","height":400,"width":592,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/fdb054fc-896f-41cd-8824-7c3c69c8bff3/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/fdb054fc-896f-41cd-8824-7c3c69c8bff3","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2]}]},"height":400,"width":592},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/0c72cbaa-a5bd-4579-8b5d-f91b5c04cf90/canvas/_2","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/fdb054fc-896f-41cd-8824-7c3c69c8bff3/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}},{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/0c72cbaa-a5bd-4579-8b5d-f91b5c04cf90/canvas/_3","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"bhs_205459-3","height":592,"width":417,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/8ed86d2d-495d-4bd6-be09-c328499f9512/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/8ed86d2d-495d-4bd6-be09-c328499f9512","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2]}]},"height":592,"width":417},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/0c72cbaa-a5bd-4579-8b5d-f91b5c04cf90/canvas/_3","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/8ed86d2d-495d-4bd6-be09-c328499f9512/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/55c8c6e5-5ae0-4038-8054-888d69648c00/full/300,300/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
