The widowed Capt. Henderson is seated centre in front of his Farms and Farminghouse, with a grandchild and 8 adult Children and youth, 5 of whom were living at home in 1901 (Census). In 1905 his 3 unmarried daughters Mary Jane, Marion Elizabeth and Harriet, had a house built for them at what is now 485 Brant Street (now Smith's Funeral Home). Alexander and Miranda Biggs were the parents of 9 Children and youth at home in 1901 (Census), some of whom are seen in this Photograph. Top right, A. Cotter residence, Port Nelson, location unknown.,Captain Daniel Henderson was in Wellington Square by 1865 and is mentioned in the Halton Atlas of 1877 as owner of one of 3 ships in Burlington: the Mary Jane, a vessel of 22,000 bushels capacity, 345 tons register. The 1881, 1891 and 1901 Censuses list him as a famer. The 1889 Gazeteer of the Grand Trunk Railway also lists him as a coal supplier. A. C. Biggs, Insurance Agent, is recorded in the 1897 Voters list as the owner of Lots 5 &6, Guelph Line. The 11 June 1924 Gazette notes that \"a house on the Biggs property in Port Nelson has been removed to Seneca Street by Mr Lionel Biggs\".
