The new hall is named for Archbishop Alexander Christie, D.D., founder of the University. \"Christie Hall will rise on the northeast corner of the campus on the face of the bluff overlooking the Willamette. It will be of red brick construction with white trimmings. The extreme length will be one hundred and eighty-six feet. The width of the wings will be seventy-five feet. When completed, it will offer private rooms for one hundred and twenty-two students. The library of the University will be temporarily located here and room will be afforded for an assembly hall, recreation rooms, reception room and bowling alleys. Extreme pains have been taken to provide as far as possible all the comforts of home to the boys presenting themselves for courses.
