From the bottom of the bag are four long “arms”, and it is these arms which have led these bags to be called “Octopus Bags”. The dramatic beaded designs include a black/white figure, flower forms, leaf forms and forms of fruit clusters, perhaps grapes. The seed beads are very small and all but the white beads are faceted which gives some sparkle to the design in the light. The beadwork is sinew sewn.
