The dog provides a spot of traquility at the center of the scene, blissfully sleeping through all the excitement.....We can feel the night cold because of the heavy garments of the sheepherders, the tightly curled sleeping dog, and the flock of sheep conspicuously pressed togher as they graze...."},{"label":"Physical Description","value":"One two-sided leaf mounted in matboard frame with mylar window. Single column, 14 lines in gothic hand. Rubrics in red, verso with 3 one-line initials and 1 two-line initial in blue with white tracery and scrolling pink and blue floral infill on a ground of burnished gold. A panel border of acanthus leaves, other vegetation, and yellow bird, an insect, and a squirrel.
