The new bells will replace a [1952] carillon which was destroyed in the April [1969] fire which razed the University theater and music buildings. Speakers for the 25-bell carillon will be placed on the roof of the chapel, permitting the bells to be heard within the chapel, alone or with the organ, and sounding from the chapel tower across the campus….
