Joseph Donahue, C.S.C., in 1928, the year of Donahue's death from an embolism. A photo was taken of it for a mention of him in the 1951 yearbook. During his first year in office, he definitively separated the high school from that of the college and instituted the full four-year college program.  Donahue was a firm proponent of mathematics and the empirical sciences. He unfortunately did not live to see the first college graduation ceremony in 1929.
