This new dorm, Mehling Hall, was named for Rev. Theodore Mehling, C.S.C., 11th University President and first president to admit women to the University. Included in the building plans for this residence hall was a boiler’s room that was big enough to handle all the future needs of the campus. (cf. Rev. Paul E.
