As the tallest building on campus, it is also visible from downtown Portland.  Imprinted on the Blessed Rev. Basil Moreau, C.S.C. bell is the coat of arms of the University of Portland.  Imprinted on the Saint André Bessette, C.S.C. bell is the seal of the Congregation of Holy Cross. The two Holy Cross bells are the largest of the 14 bells that make up the Bell Tower.
