Polos kept the Inn's seal tank (seen here center-left), and barking seals greeted patrons as they parked their cars. The named changed to The Sea Lion Inn in the early 1950s, and went through several iterations on this spot over the ensuing decades--due to either expansion or fire. In 1996,  this site opened as Duke's Malibu restaurant."},{"label":"Note","value":"Part of the Lani Netter photo album donation"},{"label":"Internal Notes","value":"nettercoll"},{"label":"Type","value":["Image"]},{"label":"Asset ID","value":"0118-b01f01-0014"},{"label":"Series (Malibu Historical Photographs)","value":["Lani Netter Collection of Malibu Photographs"]}],"description":"Las Flores Inn restaurant on PCH, late 1940s","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/dc516a77-54e6-4527-9055-ed0ac8d07e9a/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Las Flores Inn restaurant on PCH, late 1940s","height":2207,"width":5639,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/dc516a77-54e6-4527-9055-ed0ac8d07e9a/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/dc516a77-54e6-4527-9055-ed0ac8d07e9a","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":1024,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4,8]}]},"height":2207,"width":5639},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/dc516a77-54e6-4527-9055-ed0ac8d07e9a/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/dc516a77-54e6-4527-9055-ed0ac8d07e9a/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/dc516a77-54e6-4527-9055-ed0ac8d07e9a/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/logo"}
