They were de-scented. This particular skunk was probably named 'Bobo,' a large male. The other skunk they kept was 'Sugar,' a female skunk. One day, while riding her horse, she came across a wild skunk and, while on her horse, reached down and caught it by its tail and took it home. She put it in a cage but later it got out, and, while trying to re-catch it, she was sprayed! She said this was the first and last time she caught a skunk. I think that was a good idea. My brother Darrol found a skunk in his garage in Newbury Park. He tried to persuade it to leave but it got nervous and sprayed the walls and other places. Darrol sold his house; the smell would not completely dissipate."},{"label":"Title","value":"Pet skunk in the yard"},{"label":"Format Details","value":"Black and white photographic print"},{"label":"Series (Trancas)","value":["Around Malibu"]}],"description":"Pet skunk in the yard","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/d4b5f9bd-709c-4734-9b51-9750938249e2/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Pet skunk in the yard","height":2004,"width":2987,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/d4b5f9bd-709c-4734-9b51-9750938249e2/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/d4b5f9bd-709c-4734-9b51-9750938249e2","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":1024,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":2004,"width":2987},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/d4b5f9bd-709c-4734-9b51-9750938249e2/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/d4b5f9bd-709c-4734-9b51-9750938249e2/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/d4b5f9bd-709c-4734-9b51-9750938249e2/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/pepperdine/iiif/logo"}
