On the negative sleeve, Williams wrote: "Time Killers. Some day we will want every second the army has wasted of our young lives." This photo is part of a series documenting Williams’ shipping out to Korea. The journey started in Pittsburg, California (Camp Stoneman), where a ferry carried troops to San Francisco for embarkation to Japan, and on to Korea. The bulk of the journey took place on the USS General M. C.
