DeMille on behalf of Micky (Dennis) Moore for the Screen Directors Guild. Frank Caffey, head of production at Paramount, was the first to suggest that Moore should try his hand as assistant director. However, it was DeMille who again played a critical role in his career transition. DeMille provided this letter of recommendation that helped Moore get into the Director’s Guild of America (DGA).
