One resolution states that unless by the 4th day of March next, the list of exclusive Northern sectional domination shall be quenched and a reaction in public sentiment at the North upon the subject of slavery shall have taken place...it will be the duty of North Carolina, making common cause with her sister states of the South, to seek safety out of the Union. A second resolution refers the governor’s message on the recruiting of solders among the several counties to the committee on Military Affairs. A third resolution requests that the governor inform the Senate if any portion of the citizens of North Carolina have consulted with him upon the propriety of taking possession of the United States forts in North Carolina.
