Most of the collection concerns the militia from North Carolina and South Carolina sent to join Andrew Jackson against the Muscogee Indians (Creek Indians) in Alabama. Records related to the American War of Independence include his pension application, four article drafts, and a letter written by Joseph Graham concerning military action in western North Carolina from June 1780 to March 1781. The letters include sketches of positions at the Battle of Cowan's Ford and Battle of Clapp's Mill. These historical records only include the perspective of the creator. The history documented may reflect the perspective of individuals who are of the same race, ethnicity, sex, religion, and/or economic background as the creator. However, it does not reflect the thoughts, emotions, nor experiences of every individual or group mentioned in or affected by the events occurring in the records."},{"label":"Format","value":["Application forms (documents)","Rosters","Letters (Correspondence)","Reports"]},{"label":"Rights","value":"The SA of NC considers this item in the public domain by U.S. law but responsibility for permissions rests with researchers."},{"label":"Source Collections","value":["Joseph Graham Papers.
