She hears that he is coming home soon but that he doesn't know how. While she wishes that were true, she fears it won't be. She tells him that if he can't come home but goes to the hospital, to let her know so that she can come to see him there. James has been home and stayed about a week, but has now gone back to camp even though he is sick. Henry James is sick in Raleigh but other folks they know write that they are well. She writes vaguely about a matter that she talked to her husband about before he left. Her mother gives her best to him and says to thank him for not forgetting her.
