Dr. Maynor describes her upbringing in Pembroke, North Carolina. Dr. Maynor also discusses her educational journey and career, and her adult life as an advocate for American Indians and social justice. This interview was conducted by John Horan on July 12, 2024 in collaboration with the North Carolina American Indian Heritage Commission. The Oral History collection contains interviews conducted and acquired by the Oral History Unit of the State Archives of North Carolina. This unit seeks to work with individuals and communities across the state to record and preserve the lived experience of North Carolinians, as told by North Carolinians and to make these histories accessible for generations to come.
