T. Outlaw, assistant register (1910-1932) and register (1932- 1952) of deeds. Original manuscripts include Duplin Co. deeds,  wills, and estate papers (1749-1936), several concerning Outlaws  and Gradys, and two (1857, 1859) concerning trust funds for  education of poor children from Peter Carleton and Alexander  Dickson. Also included are powers of attorney, a partial tax list  (1783), militia orders, memorandum book with Graddy births and  deaths (1753-1810), and letter from Grady Outlaw about conditions  in Duplin Co. (1863). Typescript and clippings of local history  and biography by Outlaw and others include county histories, one  by William Dickson in 1810; church, school, and town histories;  biographies of ministers and other leaders; typescript minutes of  the Baptist Advisory Council (1851); and Official Directory of  Duplin County, 1747-1935, compiled by Outlaw. Military material  includes copied minutes (1784-1853) of the [Duplin Co. Militia]  Regimental Courts-Martial; summaries of Revolutionary pension applications (National Archives); and WWII roster of servicemen  and women. Also included are program, clippings (1949-1950), and  partial script of The Duplin Story by Sam Byrd, a historical play  with music; genealogical information on the Outlaws and other  Duplin Co. families; and some personal, professional, and historical  correspondence of A. T.
