Pearsall writes to wife letter letting her know he is still alive but very tired. They have marched 75 miles toward Richmond. He tells her that since the 5th some part of the army has been engaged in fighting. He describes some of the dangers he has lived through and prays that he will be able to make it through the fighting to come home to her and the children. He thinks this fight will be the end of the war.
