(1941-1942); material on war work by county salvage committee, Red Cross, garden club, and DAR; photographs of servicemen and recreation centers; history of Methodist Recreation Center in Wadesboro; and some material relating to individual Anson Co. servicemen.    Additionally, includes one cubic foot (three fibredex boxes) of genealogical files. This portion of the collection consists of the genealogy of the Horne family of Virginia and North Carolina, and focuses specifically how they relate to a great number of other North Carolina and Virginia families. The data includes a great number of wills, deeds, orders, lawsuits and various other legal documents. The information focuses heavily on Surry and Sussex Counties in Virginia as well as Anson County, North Carolina although a great deal of the surrounding counties are mentioned and considered in the collection. The papers concentrate mostly on generations from the 1600s-1700s, although it does include some information from as early as 1475 and as late as 1942.
