Martha tells Francis that she is sick again. She has planted sweet potatoes, and plans to plant corn next week. A thief stole horses and bacon from the Allens. All the men were ordered out of Camp Asheville and she has heard the Yankees could come at any time but that they won't because there is nothing in the area but half-starved women and children. She and the children do not have enough to eat, and costs are rising. She will try to send a package of food to him by Marion Higgins; she would bring it herself if she could but she doesn't think camp is a place for a woman to be unless they are tending to the sick. She ends with a plea to trust in God."},{"label":"Identifier","value":"PC_1825_Poteet_Dickson_Letters_18640407"}],"description":"Letter: Martha Hendley Poteet to Francis Marion Poteet, April 7, 1864","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/b2333d49-7095-4667-a53e-6838a1b4c529/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"PC_1825_Poteet_Dickson_Letters_18640407_001","height":1824,"width":1084,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/ac767841-cc09-48e7-9ec5-f6e9969665df/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jp2","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/ac767841-cc09-48e7-9ec5-f6e9969665df","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":1824,"width":1084},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/b2333d49-7095-4667-a53e-6838a1b4c529/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/ac767841-cc09-48e7-9ec5-f6e9969665df/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}},{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/b2333d49-7095-4667-a53e-6838a1b4c529/canvas/_2","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"PC_1825_Poteet_Dickson_Letters_18640407_002","height":1815,"width":1076,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/fde3e71c-b806-4d2d-a505-0c1ad5226150/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jp2","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/fde3e71c-b806-4d2d-a505-0c1ad5226150","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":1815,"width":1076},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/b2333d49-7095-4667-a53e-6838a1b4c529/canvas/_2","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/fde3e71c-b806-4d2d-a505-0c1ad5226150/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/ac767841-cc09-48e7-9ec5-f6e9969665df/full/300,300/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ncdcr/iiif/logo"}
