The few letters in the collection (1796-1869) concern Quaker friends and relatives in Ohio (1801) and Indiana (1868-1869), and others who moved to Randolph Co. (1845-1847) and Texas (1856). Land papers (1733-1848) from Craven, Bath, Jones, and Onslow counties trace ownership of land, some from Martin Franck's \"New Germany\" through the Bryan Family to its purchase (1841) by I. W. Brock. Other legal papers include will of John Martin, Bath Co., 1737; Jones and Onslow county bills of sale for slaves (1788-1852), many bought by John M. Franck; mortgage (1766) and promissory notes; estate papers of E. Whitliff Franck (1851) and John M. Franck (1868,1873); and appointments of Ignatius Brock as river overseer (1834) and of Benjamin Brock, Jr., as commissioner of relief of soldiers' families (1864). Also included are accounts; miscellaneous papers concerning lawsuits; and receipts for goods, taxes (1863-1873), cotton and wool cards (1864), and debts paid between Maria Franck and Jonathan Worth (1866-1867)."},{"label":"Digital Characteristics","value":"1 page"},{"label":"Format","value":["Finding aids"]},{"label":"Rights","value":"The SA of NC considers this item in the public domain by U.S. law but responsibility for permissions rests with researchers."},{"label":"Source Collections","value":["Ignatius Brock Papers.
