Henry Toole Clark dated Feb. 11, 1862. Ragland has presumably been conscripted, although he does not mention that in his letter. He writes that he is 46 years old, his son and son-in-law are both already in the Confederate army, he has a daught and infant child living with him, and he has nine slaves who his wife can not manage without him.
