Clark discusses her life and upbringing on her father's tobacco farm. She remembers her days in the classroom during her career. She also reflects on how important it is to not judge other people and to take time to learn from people with different backgrounds. This interview was conducted by Kerry Bird, from the American Indian Heritage Commission, on July 24, 2024. The Oral History collection contains interviews conducted and acquired by the Oral History Unit of the State Archives of North Carolina. This unit seeks to work with individuals and communities across the state to record and preserve the lived experience of North Carolinians, as told by North Carolinians and to make these histories accessible for generations to come.
