James A. Keith!' Merrimon also asks for Vance to help with the resignation of a friend and the promotion of another. He closes the letter with information of a sale of a printing press in which the funds will go towards a bank note. This item was scanned as part of the American Civil War Sesquicentennial commemoration at the North Carolina State Archives.
