There are slave bills of sale and lists of slaves, and the estate papers (1839-1843) of George Pollock include division of 1,086 slaves by slave families. Wills are of Thomas and James Rhodes (Bertie, 1795, 1799), Thomas Barker (Chowan, 1786), George P. Devereux (unprobated, 1835), and Elizabeth Hinton (Wake Co., 1865). Also in the collection are a list of tenants at Hawfields (1831); \"Runeroi\" plantation accounts, kept by John Devereux for Mrs. Frances Devereux (1845-1849); papers from a lawsuit involving John Devereux and Malachi Weston; agreement between Thomas Pollock Devereux and George E.
