State Archives. Most of the transcripts dated 1809-1832 were published in Henry Thomas Shanks (ed.), The Papers of Willie Person Mangum, 1807-1894, 5 vols. (Raleigh, 1950-1956). The transcripts dated 1833-1897 are primarily those omitted from publication, and there are also transcripts of a proposed (but never published) Volume VI (1811-1902) of the Mangum papers, most of the originals of which are microfilmed in Mf.P. 73. Original material in this collection includes a few letters, one from Mangum to Tod R.
