Most of the entries concern such pastoral activities as  preaching, visiting the sick, and baptizing, as well as work on  his farm. There are receipts and expenditures for Jan.-Dec.,  1848; obituary of Catharine Emaline Bost (d. 1834); and  statistics of baptisms and confirmations by date and church  and of burials by date and name (1850-1858). Diary covers the  years 1834-1866 and 1869-1893, but only a typed copy is filmed  for 1834-1851, 1852-1863. Original is in the Rowan Co.
