He expresses how bad weather is there and how that likely delayed their package but thanks them as it has finally arrived. He expresses concern over the fact that the confederate troops have won several of the battles in the south, and fears something must be going wrong somewhere. He asks for their advice about reenlisting for another segment. The Anthonys live on a plantation in Campbell City, near Lynchburg VA. John Anthony, Co. B., 11th VA Vols was 19 at the time of writing. He enlisted and was mustered in on April 23, 1961. He was discharged for a furnished substitute named Patrick Murry on February 23, 1963. \n\nAnthony was wounded in action on May 31, 1862 at Seven Pines and on September 5, 1862 at an unknown place. He was hospitalized at Petersburg, VA on April 25, 1865 with a gunshot wound in his right thigh.
