Blomfield was a suitable candidate. Dicusses his plan to subsequently offer Blomfield's post at Morpeth to Cowper, so that Cowper could assist Tyrell with his plans for the Diocese of Newcastle. Mentions that the role would also include superintending candidates for ministry, and have the title of Archdeacon. Reminds Cowper that he had already expressed interest in filling such a post, when they had discussed it in December 1854. Assures Cowper that he has already discussed the plan with Bishop Barker, and mentions his awareness of the impending arrival of William Hodgson to become Principal of Moore College.
