Philippa Strachey was then 95 and nearly blind and had asked Miss L.Norton to see to their being publicised and to their ultimate disposal. John Carter said that the Editor of the T.L.S. would welcome an article based on the collection of letters, and suggested Joan Bennett as the writer.
