Laws governing people ought to conform to Magna Charta, specifically until a person is proved guilty he shall be considered innocent, and no British subject to be convicted by jury of peers without trial by jury - the bulwark of English liberty.  Another principle is that all persons are equal before the law.  However in 1866 and 1869 Parliament passed two Laws in direct contravention of these principles. These Laws supercede trial by jury and authorise conviction on suspicion. They only apply to poor women.  Our Christian government is attempting to make vice safe.  Appeals to working men and women electors to use newly acquired electoral power for protection from such 'vile class legislation', and to withhold vote from any candidate of any creed unless he promises to vote for unconditional repeal of the Contagious Diseases Acts relating to Women."},{"label":"Resource type general","value":["Physical Object"]},{"label":"Type","value":["Posters"]}],"description":"To the Electors of the city of Gloucester","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/lse/iiif/5a12dd5c-10f4-41fa-b28a-d219dc266e4e/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"To the Electors of the city of Gloucester","height":4611,"width":3177,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/lse/iiif/5a12dd5c-10f4-41fa-b28a-d219dc266e4e/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/lse/iiif/5a12dd5c-10f4-41fa-b28a-d219dc266e4e","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":1024,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4,8]}]},"height":4611,"width":3177},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/lse/iiif/5a12dd5c-10f4-41fa-b28a-d219dc266e4e/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/lse/iiif/5a12dd5c-10f4-41fa-b28a-d219dc266e4e/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/lse/iiif/5a12dd5c-10f4-41fa-b28a-d219dc266e4e/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/lse/iiif/logo"}
