In 1913, the Los Angeles Aqueduct was completed to bring Owens Valley water to the city. This canal was part of the Los Angeles Aqueduct system in the Owens Valley operated by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to bring water from Owens Valley to Los Angeles. A resident of Big Pine and leader of resistance against Los Angeles, J. D.
