As argued by Stanton (1973), Venice experienced traffic congestion and parking problems early in the automobile age, as there were very few thoroughfares for automobiles during the canal period in Venice. In 1929, many of the canals were filled in and paved as roads; the Lagoon became the Venice traffic circle at Main Street and Windward Avenue."},{"label":"Language","value":"eng"},{"label":"Publisher","value":"Los Angeles, Cal.: California Postcard Co."},{"label":"Type","value":["Postcards"]},{"label":"Digital Identifier","value":"LML_MS-042-000330001"},{"label":"Object Identifier","value":"LML_MS-042-00033"},{"label":"Geographic Location","value":"Venice (Los Angeles, Calif.); Windward Ave. (Los Angeles, Calif.)"},{"label":"Subject","value":"Streets--California--Los Angeles; Central business districts--California--Los Angeles; Parking facilities--California--Los Angeles; Traffic congestion--California--Los Angeles;"},{"label":"Title","value":"Windward Avenue, Venice, California"},{"label":"Date Range","value":"circa 1920"},{"label":"Source","value":"Department of Archives and Special Collections, William H.
