Dear brother:  I have the pleasure of referring to your letter dated the 4th of this month. I am aware of what you  tell me with respect to the houses as well as to a possible buyer that also seems very good to me.  I believe that if the houses were offered on a long-term basis, one could get a better price. For  example: if the store was of interest you could ask for the amount that is owed to the Martinez'  gentlemen which is $4,500 [pesos] more or less giving let’s say one thousand [as down payment]  and the rest over time and without interest, leaving that loan secured by the same house. i would  then pay the gentlemen an interest of about 1/2% per month on the interest payments with  the other house. I really think that such a proposition would be better for the buyer than paying  three thousand in cash or buying over time with interest.  I am of the same opinion with respect to the business you had planned. You were telling me that  the Martinez gentlemen were going to close the store, well then where are you now employed  and how much do you earn?  You tell me that you do not know when you will tie the knot. I hope, and God willing, you will  not take too long because it may be that the bride [Lupe] may reconsider, to whom we ask that  you give her our regards and you all know that we would be very happy to sponsor you because I  have been wanting to take a little trip over there to see all of you.  We would like to see how Chayo, Nacho, and Lupita look because surely they continued to grow  and they have changed very much and we would like to see their recent pictures.  Yesterday we sent you the baby's picture [Teresa at six months] and you can tell us if it arrived.  Tell Lupe we'll know if they are kidding or not when we meet her in person.
