June 25, 1928 Mrs. Julia C. de Venegas Guadalajara, Jal. Comadre: With much mortification I answer your letter, so much time has gone by without answering sooner because of my many occupations, and not so much that, as for the long time it takes me to write one, it takes me about two hours, as you may remember what it was like when I wrote to Miguel. I spend most of my time between the store and the house, and at night I pray the rosary and go to bed or else sew for a while but by that time I am so very tired that I don't have any desire to write letters, and I go to bed with the worry that I have to answer them. My hope is that upon receiving this one you are all in good health, as are we thanks be to God. The boys have grown very much, Eduardo is big and fat, and he can now remember you all by name whenever he hears a train. They are once again like they were there before, always hearing the train and wishing they could go; I hope God will grant our wishes very soon. Miguelito says that all of you should get together, including papá Silviano and Anita and come over here. The other day Miguelito was sick and he told me he didn't want to die without seeing his grandparents, that once he saw them, then God could take him, to which I responded that once he was in heaven he could see them there, and his response was no, that he wanted to see them first and then die. Not even the boys want to remain here, they daily remember playing with their friends and when papá Juan would dance the dance of the bottle. What news do you have about Cuca and her family? When you see her please give her my regards, and the same from Miguel and the boys. Tell her that as soon as she has her photo taken with Lucita, to send it to me. [Cuca is Alfonso's wife. Alfonso has not been home since January of 1927]. Tell my compadre not to forget his promise of sending a group photo, and tell him we also had a photo taken but it did not turn out well so we will try again. Receive greetings from Miguel and all the boys, and do not forget us in your prayers, your daughter who doesn't forget you and asks for your blessing. Regards to all. Dolores D. de Venegas"},{"label":"Is Part Of","value":"Venegas Family Papers, Collection Number 99, Series 1. Subseries A.
