August 7, 1927  Mr. J.V. de la Torre  Guad. Jal. Mex.  Dear Dad,  I have your much esteemed letter dated the 18th of last month, which I have wanted to answer  for days.  I regret that you have no news about the others; recently a man arrived here and said that not too  long ago he saw A. [his brother Alfonso] together with the L. [Gomez Loza, one of the rebellion  leaders] and I hope they are all OK.  As for Soledad, I have not written to her again and I thought she was communicating with all of  you, but if that is not the case, I will ask her why she isn't doing so when I next write to her. I  will send her your address.  As for the merchants from that city, I have not received a single letter; I don't know why that is  so. If they do not think it advisable to communicate with me, well then one must leave  everything run its course and time will be the one to settle it; there's nothing that I can do. If  Pancho can go see the Lebre gentlemen some day, it would be very good to know what their  intentions are regarding the merchandise that they have.  Surely sometime soon my family will be leaving for this city and I believe that Don Silviano is  also coming with them, which puts me more at ease.
