Mulholland drive is visible in the upper left."},{"label":"Note","value":"Located in the Santa Monica Mountains, Topanga was first settled by Mexican citizens in 1839.  In 1862, President Lincoln's Homestead Bill opened the canyon up to further settlement.  During the 1920s, it was a popular weekend destination for Hollywood stars, providing both privacy and a beautiful natural setting.
