One man carries a stool. Two men in Western dress can be seen in procession. Spectators watch from the sidewalk. Colorful banners decorate the street."},{"label":"Note","value":"The Chinese Dragon first appeared in La Fiesta de Los Angeles in April, 1896. There was only one such dragon in California. At 800 feet, it had to be taken apart to be transported from Marysville on the Southern Pacific Railroad. Later that year, the Chinatown community imported a Dragon from China so that Los Angeles would have its own. Originally featured in the Fiestas of the early 1900s, the Dragon is a centerpiece of the city's Chinese New Year celebration. The Chinese Dragon is revered and represents wisdom, good fortune and generosity."},{"label":"Language","value":"eng"},{"label":"Publisher","value":"New York City and Kirchhheim [Germany]: Paul C.
