I don't remember well,  but about a month ago I wrote you through Don Silviano Dávalos whom I asked to hand over the  rest of the money that he was keeping for me so that you could in turn hand it over to a  gentleman who was leaving for that city named José Sánchez; who has your address.  This gentleman did not leave immediately because he first had to settle some business and he  now wishes to know, and so do I, what to expect regarding the money; because from what I see,  you haven't received anything and I am not even sure if the letter was received by Don Silviano,  which is why I beg you, if it is not an inconvenience, to go see him and ask if he has a letter for  you, and if not, then this one can serve the purpose and you can collect said amount so that this  Mr. Sanchez won’t have any problem getting his money now that he has shown me so much  confidence. In case Don Silviano isn't there; see Salvador [Don Silviano's son].  On to another matter, I can tell you we have all been feeling better, thanks be to God. Lola has  been much better although not completely cured.  As for the boys they are always catching something if it’s not one thing it's another because as  you well know, now there are quite of few of them.  We are glad because there now appears to be hope for reaching an agreement on the matter [the  rebellion], and if so, it may be possible to return a year from now, God willing.
