Herb J. Wesson, Jr. is a California politician who served as a member of the 47th State Assembly District from 1998 until 2004, when term limits forced him to step down. In 2002, he was unanimously elected the 65th Speaker of the California State Assembly – one of the three most powerful positions in state government.
